Despite Morocco's legislative efforts to tackle human trafficking, the latest UN reports suggest that the government has fallen short in addressing the issue as the number of  identified trafficking victims rosed from 187 in 2023 to 217 in 2024.

Syrian and Palestinian refugees detained in Libya's Zuwarah detention center have called on the UN and human rights groups for "urgent intervention" to escape the harsh conditions in the prison.
